The Black Legion has vanquished every army and fleet sent against it, yet now this invincible Legion is in full retreat as it races away from the Emperor’s wrath. They gambled all on a single decisive battle, and with it lost everything.
With victory against the Emperor now impossible, the Legion finds itself lacking purpose and money. They came to the Empire with promises of glory and reward, but now they are trapped and surrounded on all sides by enemies. The massacre of the Legion’s officer corps leaves it vulnerable, and it falls to warriors like Xenophon to hold back their desire for revenge and to put them on a path home.
The God King Artaxerxes is no fool, and he knows he cannot let a massive Terran fleet make its way through his domain unchallenged. To do so would encourage dissent in his already weakened empire. He may have fought off his brother, Lord Cyrus, but the threat of revolt is ever near. Mobilising forces from every corner of the Empire, he throws them all at the Legion under the command of his trusted lieutenant Tissaphernes.
Last Stand is the fourth book in the Star Legions series from Michael G. Thomas, the bestselling author of the Star Crusades series. Previously published as the Black Legion series.

Another solid chapter in this retelling of a classic tale set in the sc-fi universe. Last Stand really has plenty to keep the readers attention action wise, but it's the development of the strategic side of Xenophon that really makes for interesting reading. A must have for fans of the series or of the author.Product details

Last Stand Star Legions The Ten Thousand Book 4 eBook Michael G Thomas Reviews
I like how the author uses the main characters in this series. I can see the author is a student of history.
Really good
Graet read. I loved the use of classical Greece and sci-fi, mix in friendship, love and money. Well writen and well worth the money.
Very well written scifi. The author has two excellent series. A must read for anyone interested in the challenges of flying among the stars.
I love the series. It is well though out and although I never read the historical reference, the plots, etc. are excellent!
I wish the tactics were more developed in this part but the series is amazin! I wish the editing would be more precise!
I like the story but the editing is terrible. I don't think there is a page in the last 3 books that does not have at least one misuse of a work, typos, and poor grammar. I am not that picky; however, these books have become hard to read.
